Jazz band victorious at Mt. Hood

Colfax High School Jazz band topped their competition division Saturday in the Mt. Hood Jazz Festival at Mt. Hood Community College.

Director Mike Morgan noted the first-place win was the third awarded to the Colfax band over the four years this year's seniors have been in the program.

Judges from Lewis and Clark College and Willamette University scored the Colfax band 93 out of a 100 and 92 out of a 100 respectively.

The band's competition set includes "Aaron's Blues," "I Remember Clifford" by Benny Golson and "Body Snatchers", a Radio Head arrangement they obtained from the EWU band.
