Family concert

set for May 16

The annual family concert of the Palouse Community band will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 16, in the Domey Auditorium of the Gladish Center in Pullman. This year’s concert will include “Everything Is Awesome” from the Lego Movie; “Cubano Bueno,” which features local guest percussion players; “Selections From the Sound of Music,” and the patriotic marches of John Philip Sousa.

Following the 40-minute concert, audience members will have a chance to try to play some of the instruments. This concert has been developed to expose children to music.

Admission is free, but donations will be accepted.

Dahmen Barn

calls photogs

Artisans at the Dahmen Barn announced its annual contest and exhibition for photographers which will run June 7 through 28 with the opening reception Sunday, June 7, from 1 to 3 p.m. All photographers are invited to enter photos of the Palouse taken in the past year. All photos will be displayed in the exhibit and a people’s choice cash award of $150 will be given.

Chapter AF met May 11 at Peace Lutheran Church with Liane Smith as hostess. Paige Collins from Council on Aging reported on transportation and the food bank. An open house is scheduled June 12 to make people aware of the services they offer. The program was presented by Sherry Cox.

Twelve members responded to roll call by giving the number of graduates in their class.

The next scheduled meeting will be Tuesday, May 26, with Brenda Kneeshaw hostess. Jody Conrad and Brenda Kneeshaw will present the program.
