Garfield's Lewis duo to mark 60th

Robert and Norma Lewis of Garfield will mark their 60th wedding anniversary Dec. 26.

Robert, from Steptoe, and Norma, from Garfield, were married in Coeur d' Alene Dec. 26, 1954.

They moved to Sonora, Calif., where he began his career as a concrete finisher.

They returned to the Palouse in 1956 and settled in Garfield.

He continued his 43-year career in the plaster and cement mason's union (local 72) and farmed for more than 30 years.

Norma was a cosmetologist at the Plush & Brush Beauty Salon in Moscow for 17 years.
