Dugger steer tops carcass contest

Dawson Dugger of Palouse was the winner of the Palouse Empire Fair's Beef Carcass of Merit Contest. A total of 59 steers were entered into the contest. Second place award went to Valente Reynoso Heaton and third to Jeronimo Reynoso Heaton, both from Dusty. Dugger received the award at the WSU meats laboratory from donors of the cash awards, Jerry Reeves (left) of Bar R Cattle Co., and Rhod McIntosh of McIntosh Angus Ranch. Whitman County Cattlemen's Association purchased the trophies.
