Driver safety class set Oct. 7 in Colfax

A one-day, eight-hour AARP Driver Safety Smart Driver class, formerly known as 55 Alive, will be in Colfax Oct. 7 in the first floor auditorium of the Whitman County Public Service Building from 8:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. with a break for lunch. Parking is available in the lot behind the building.

Class space is limited and pre-registration is strongly recommended. Course fees are $15 for AARP members and $20 for non-members.

While designed especially for people age 50 and older the course is open to individuals of any age for people who want to review and/or learn proven safety strategies on the road. Completion of the class can entitle the attendee to a reduction in auto insurance premiums if allowed on their policy, according to Arnie Lee, instructor.
