Moose makes stop at Broekel place

A moose visited the Oscar Broeckel place this past week. It ambled between buildings and generally checked things out before moving on in its travels.

Gavin Liam flew up from Oceanside, Calif., to spend his spring break with his grandparents, Dick and Suzy McNeilly.

David and Phyllis Stueckle attended the sausage feed in Sprague Sunday. Their guests were Ann Emerson and Gayle Buri, both of Colfax.

A family bridal shower was held recently for Neil Appel's fiancee, Liz Phillipp, at the home of Helen Appel. Hostesses were Barb Wollstein, Beth Lohrmeyer and Caroline Kunkel. Special guest was Liz's mother, Mary Ann Phillipp of Houston, Texas.

Larry and Di Brink helped Amber, Ashley, Kloey and Nick surprise Kevin Brink with a 40th birthday party this past weekend in Kennewick. Tom Phillips had arrived from Las Vegas on Thursday; John, Brandi and Myla Brink came from Pullman Saturday; Josh Bay drove over from Seattle, and Chris Keeney and his girlfriend Alisha drove from College Place to join the fun. Larry and Di returned home Saturday.

Roger, Peggy and Austin Zaring attended the Desert 100 in Odessa over the weekend. It is a motorcycle run over 100 miles of sage brush on rocky slopes of silty sand. They were part of the Colfax chapter, Palouse 3N1 Ridaz, of the Christian Motorcycle Association who participated.

Joining them were Greg and Gwen Nolan, David Enos and Grant Collins, five people from Spokane and five from the west side from different CMA chapters. The group also had a booth where they could share their beliefs with anyone interested.
