Clancy Pool receives Library Journal honor

Whitman County Library’s Clancy Pool of St. John has been chosen as Paralibrarian of the Year by Library Journal. An article about her career is in this month’s edition of the magazine and featured on-line.

A member of the library staff since 1992, she expanded services at the St. John branch and was one of the key proponents of the $500,000 bond measure for construction of the new library/city hall building, the Denton Building, in St. John.

Pool now serves as service manager for the 13 branches of the library.

The Paralibrarian of the Year award is sponsored by Demco, Inc., of Madison, Wis., which underwrites the $1,500 prize and a reception to honor the winner at the American Library Association annual conference in Las Vegas this June.
