Colleen Boone assembles Garfield, Palouse grad tales

It started with a Palouse High all-school reunion when Colleen Boone was asked to put together a memorial poster with names of classmates who had died.

“It was very embarrassing when people came up to me and said, ‘I’m not dead,’” Boone said.

It was 1990 and after that she sought to correct the records she had, but most of the information had burned in the 1976 Palouse school fire.

Today, after many years of keeping obituaries and other newspaper clippings of Garfield and Palouse graduates, she aims to soon have a digital record on file at the school’s library.
