Canarygrass control will be meet topic

Control of Reed Canarygrass will be the topic for meeting tonight (Thursday) at 7 p.m. sponsored by Palouse Prairie Foundation and White Pine chapter, Idaho Native Plant Society at the 1912 Center in Moscow. Dr. Linda Hardesty, WSU associate professor and rangeland extension specialist, will be the speaker.

The non-native varieties of Reed Canarygrass are recognized nationwide as a serious threat. They form dense colonies in moist, open areas, preventing the establishment of other grasses and forbs. Dr. Hardesty will present an update of the extensive research on this invasive species.
