This is the time of year when people start to make promises to themselves. Promises that they, individually, will be better. That they will change and life will be different. Personally, I am of mixed opinions regarding New Year’s resolutions.

On the one hand, the idea is great. All a person has to do is set a goal to change, make the change, and then maintain that change until it becomes the new “normal” pattern of behavior.
