County parks eye gain in camp fees

County Parks Director Tim Myers reported to the county commissioners Monday afternoon that business at the county parks is booming.

He said campground fees brought in $10,000 into the county coffers last year and this year it’s looking to be that much or more.

“The last few weekends at the parks have been packed,” he said.

He also said the parks department has received $2,500 in reservations which is more than last year at this time and he’s expecting that reservations will climb higher as the season goes on.

He also said the campfire programs at Kamiak are being very well attended.
