St. John-Endicott girls win on long trip, go to state

The St.John-Endicott girls traveled six hours to Lynnwood to beat Tulalip Heritage in the 1B Regionals last Friday night to advance to the state tournament.

The Eagles made key free throws down the stretch to win 42-38.

Gretchan Van Lith led the team with 12 points while Sami Bailey, Devan Bafus, Gracie Dickerson and Rachel Gfeller all contributed in an even scoring night.

The game featured a distinguished fan watching; Seattle Sonics legend and 1979 NBA champion “Downtown” Freddie Brown, whose granddaughter was playing for Tulalip Heritage Hawks.
