Student awards for justice

The student of character assembly for January was Friday with Justin Wargo giving the welcome. ASB officers introduced the February character trait of love/humility with a skit.

The “try” award was presented to Alynn Harder, and the academic improvement award was given to Julia Guske.

The fifth and six graders performed a series of small skits for the grade school students to show seven different styles of love, which is the February trait. They acted out patriotism, loyalty, compassion, empathy, loyalty, kindness, forgiveness and service.

A community baby shower in honor of Cheryl Thompson Binks and baby son Erik will be Saturday, Feb. 16, at noon in the City Hall.

Tigercat boys defeated Garfield –Palouse Saturday and will advance to the district championship game Saturday at Colfax against Pomeroy.
