The 59th annual Uniontown Sausage Feed will be Sunday, March 3, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Uniontown Community building.

The all-you-can-eat meal is first come, first-served. The traditional Uniontown Sausage Feed menu will include homemade sausage, mashed potatoes, sauerkraut, apple sauce, rolls, pie and beverages, including a beer garden. A total of 1,700 pounds of sausage will be made from a secret recipe, then smoked and made specifically for the event by community members.

The cost is $12 for adults, $6 for ages 6-12 and $2 for children under six. The net proceeds go to maintain the Community Building. Meals are also available to go.

The work, a collaboration between faculty member David Jarvis and festival guest composer Alex Shapiro, will be performed by Jarvis.

Other music will include: recently deceased composer Jonathan Harvey’s haunting “Mortuos Plango, Vivos Voco,” a meditative lament combining sounds from a cathedral bell and the childhood voice of the composer’s son; Mark Applebaum’s humorous and self-conscious “Pre-Composition,” which draws all of its sounds from the composer’s voice; and part three of Paul Rudy’s “Kuxan suum,” from his nine-album saga “2012 Stories.” “Mortuos Plango, Vivos Voco” and “Pre-Composition” will be presented in their original eight-channel surround sound format.
