Obituary - FRED TIMM

Frederick John Timm, age 85, passed away at his home in Olympia on Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2012. Frederick was born in Garfield on April 6, 1927, to Johnny Roy Timm and Dorothy Pearl Wiseman Timm. He grew up and attended schools in Garfield, graduating from Garfield High School. He lived in Garfield from 1927 until 2008 when he moved to Olympia to be closer to his daughters.

He served with the US Army during the Korean Conflict.

On Oct. 5, 1957, in Clarkston, Frederick married Betty June Barnes. She preceded him in death on March 19, 2012.

The family made their home in Garfield where they raised their daughters.

Frederick was a wheat/grain farmer on the family farm and then later worked for the Garfield Union Warehouse Company.

He had been a member of the Garfield Grange, Garfield Lions Club, Garfield American Legion, churches in Garfield and Palouse, and later the first Baptist Church of Olympia. He enjoyed reading, traveling and was a car enthusiast.

His family will remember his good sense of humor, friendliness and hard work ethic.

Surviving are his daughters, Kathy Timm of Puyallup and Susan Timm of Olympia; sisters Wanda Roper, Donna Kottke and Agnes Palmer; three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held in Palouse on Jan. 26, 2013, at the Kramer Funeral Home at 2 p.m. with Rev. Corey Laughary officiating. Potlatch VFW Post #10300 and the United States Army Honor Guard will do military honors. A family urn burial will be at the Garfield Cemetery.
