Swine Information Day Feb. 1

A seminar designed for progressive pork producers and stakeholders in Washington state and other Pacific Northwest states is set for Feb. 1 at Pillar Rock Grill in Moses Lake.

Registration is $25 for the day’s events and includes seminars, handouts and lunch.

Washington Swine Information Day features presentations that have been organized to meet the needs of Pacific Northwest swine producers.

Featured speaker, Dr. Chris Hostetler, National Pork Board Director of Animal Science and former WSU Swine Center Manager, will be back in the Pacific Northwest to share his expertise in swine production and future swine research projects.

Topics at the day’s event will begin with “Freedom to Operate Your Farm.” This topic is not only important to farmers raising pigs but also to other individuals involved in agriculture production.

The afternoon session has been organized to feature topics of interest to the growing show pig interest in the Pacific Northwest. Show pig topics include selection, breeding, management, meat quality and opportunities and challenges involved with show pig production.
