In Whitman County, 7,976 residents are food insecure. This means one in five people in the county is unsure of where the next meal will come from. In Whitman County it is estimated that more than 29 percent of people are living in poverty. The poverty level for a family of two is less than $14,580 a year and $22,056 for a family of 4.
