Tapestry singers gather for reunion in Pullman

Saturday, Linda Hennigar and Diane Monson attended a “Tapestry” reunion potluck at the home of Barney and Rosemary Waldrop in Pullman. Former director Dale Forrey and his wife Lynn, Olympia, were able to attend. Five of the original nine members of the musical group were there. About 12 former members attended.

Linda Hennigar spent last Tuesday through Friday in the Tri-Cities. She watched grandson Wesley Banks show his lamb at the Benton-Franklin County Fair. Wesley got a blue ribbon in marketing and a blue for fitting and showing.

Friday, Art and Colene Sager flew to Newburg, Ore., to visit her brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Judy Record. From there, they flew to Ontario, Ore., Sunday to attend the wedding of Art’s cousin. They returned home Sunday.

Karen Broeckel spent last week in Spokane with her sister, Patty Broeckel Wieber.

A memorial service and burial for Patty’s husband, Richard Wieber, 67, was Thursday.

He died the previous Thursday at the age of 67.

He is also survived by his son, Brett; daughter, Jamie, and like-a-son, Matthew Forrest.

A private family burial preceded the public memorial service at Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home in Spokane.

Family and friends who attended included Matthew Forrest, Brisbane, Australia; Oscar Broeckel, Brian and Angela Broeckel, Vicki Broeckel, Karen Broeckel and Carmen Heaton, Dusty; Cliff and Jeanette Nolan, Greg, Gwen and Jason Nolan, Colfax; Andrew Nolan, Spokane; Ken and Pam Beasley, Waitsburg; Tom and Doreen Riedner, Genesee; Al and June Broeckel, Tacoma; and JoAnn Broeckel Elrod and Lauren and Aiden, Bellevue.

Saturday evening, Mike and Patsy Kromm hosted an outdoor barbecue and birthday dinner for her mother, Shirley Eggers at Warm Springs Ranch on the Snake River. Those who came for the event were Shirley’s son, Terry Eggers, Sandpoint; nephew Monte and Sharon Steiger, Genesee; sister Madge Griner, Meade; nephew Dean and Sandee Griner, Chattaroy; Frances and Brian Jones, Dusty; Warren Jones and friend Julie, Post Falls; Mike and Susie Honan, Gig Harbor, and John and Cindy Kromm, Colfax.

Peaches are coming on this week at Warm Springs Ranch on the Snake River. Picking has begun and will be fine over the weekend. Bring your own boxes please.

Monday, Sharon Huff and Anne Lowe, Endicott, arrived at Warm Springs Ranch to get peaches and ended up staying for a visit with Shirley Eggers and sharing birthday cake and ice cream.

Scott Stavig, Brush Prairie, spent July 3 through Aug. 22 with his grandparents Dick and Helen Appel. He was working for his Uncle Neil preparing for and driving truck for harvest.

Last Sunday the Dick Appel family gathered to celebrate Dick’s 75th birthday. Those attending were Phil Appel, Spokane; Eric and Shannon Appel Christopher, Sarah, Kyle and Sidney, Dusty; Connor Appel, WSU; Caroline Rob Kunkel, Zack, Kade, Elly and Luciene. Pullman; Neil Appel, Josh, Noemi and Isaac Dusty; Lisa and Travis Frei, Miriram, Rachel and Emma, Colfax, and Sue and Joe Lynch Pullman.
