NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Whitman County Commissioners have set the date of Monday, July 23, 2012, at 10:30 a.m. in their Chambers, Courthouse, Colfax, WA, for a proposed amendment to the 2012 Whitman County budget. At that time, it is requested all department heads/elected officials requesting an amendment be present. The total amount of the proposed amended budget is approximately $56,247,323. Copies of the proposed amendment will be available July 16, 2012 by calling 397-5240.

Disabled accommodations are accessible by using the east entrance to the Courthouse. Sealed bids for the following described construction will be received at the Malden City Hall, 204 W Moreland Ave (P.O. Box 248), Malden, Washington, 99149, until 1:30 p.m., P.D.T. on Tuesday July 31, 2012, after which the bids will be publicly opened and read aloud.

A mandatory pre-bid conference will be held at 10:00 a.m., P.D.T on Tuesday July 24, 2012 at Malden City Hall.

Bids must be completed on a lump sum and unit price basis as indicated on the BID PROPOSAL, and the total as defined in the Special Provisions will be used for the purpose of comparison of bids to improve approximately 1.09 miles of Roadway along Moreland Avenue from the west Town limits to Main Street, Main Street from Moreland Avenue to Broadway Avenue, and Broadway Avenue from Main Street to the east Town limits in the Town of Malden.

In general, the work includes approximately 15,495 square yards of full depth reclamation with cement treated base, 3,667 tons of crushed surfacing materials, 2,136 tons of hot-mixed asphalt pavement, 12 drywells, 2 concrete inlets, 31 feet of storm sewer line, 141 feet of culverts, and related miscellaneous items, e.g. pavement markings, signing, seeding, erosion control, and traffic control.

NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Town of Rosalia will open sealed proposals and publicly read them aloud on or after 10:00 A.M. on Friday, July 27, 2012 at the Rosalia City Hall, 110 W. Fifth Street, Rosalia WA 99170, for the Whitman Avenue Overlay Project. This contract provides for the improvement of Whitman Avenue between Territorial Avenue and the North City Limits, by shoulder repair, pavement repair, crack sealing, applying tack coat, hot mix asphalt overlay, approach transitions and other work, all in accordance with the attached Contract Plans, these Contract Provisions, and the Standard Specifications.

SEALED BIDS MUST BE DELIVERED BEFORE 10:00 A.M.

Sealed proposals must be delivered to the Town of Rosalia City Hall offices (110 W. Fifth Street, Rosalia Washington 99170) by 10:00 A.M. on the date specified for opening, and in an envelope clearly marked "SEALED BID FOR WHITMAN AVENUE OVERLAY, TO BE OPENED ON OR AFTER 10:00 A.M. ON FRIDAY, JULY 27, 2012".

All bid proposals shall be accompanied by a bid proposal deposit in cash, certified check, cashier's check or surety bond in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the amount of such bid proposal. Should the successful bidder fail to enter into such contract and furnish satisfactory performance bond within the time stated in the specifications, the bid proposal deposit shall be forfeited to the Town of Rosalia.
