Railcar rides to benefit depot work at Potlatch

Railcars will be back on the tracks at Potlatch July 14 for the ninth annual WI&M Railway History Preservation Group’s history day. The day will offer area residents a chance to take a ride down the tracks in one of the speeder cars which will be brought to the scene by members of the Pacific Railcar Association.

Rides to Princeton leave at 9 a.m., 11 a.m., 1:15 p.m. and 3:15 p.m. Rides to Kennedy Ford west of Potlatch leave at 10 a.m., 12 p.m., 2:15 p.m. and 4:15 p.m. All speeder rides will leave from the Potlatch Depot.

In the evening, the event will wrap up with a barbecue provided by the WI&M Railway HPG. They are also providing art, music, historical exhibits and merchandise in the Company Store.

Tickets for the rides will be $10 for adults and $5 for youngsters 12 and under. Advance tickets for specific ride times are available for $15 and $10 at the Potlatch City Hall and the Potlatch branch of US Bank.

Proceeds help support the Potlatch Depot restoration project.
