Commissioner candidate forum slated at library

A candidates forum will be Tuesday, July 17, from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Norma McGregor room at the Colfax library. It will be sponsored by the Pullman League of Women Voters and the Whitman County Gazette.

The three candidates vying for Commissioner Position #1 in Whitman County will take part. They are incumbent Greg Partch and challengers Art Swannack of Lamont and Bill Tensfeld of Rosalia. All are Republicans.

Primary ballots will be mailed out July 20 and voters in the district will not have the assistance of a voter booklet.

Top two finishers in the Aug. 7 primary advance to the general election which will be open to all districts in the county.

An additional forum will be July 18 at 7 p.m. in the Pullman City Council Chambers.
