Whitmore 100th fete set at social

A 100th birthday observance for Bernadine Pyborn Whitmore has been scheduled during the Whitman County Historical Society Ice Cream Social at the Perkins House June 24. She will mark her 100th birthday June 27. She was born on that date in 1912 just outside of Wilcox and lived on a farm there. She and Irvine (Rusty) Whitmore were married Jan. 9, 1930, and they made their home south of Colfax on the Airport Road for 76 years.

Mr. Whitmore died in January of 2009 at age 100.
