All gave some, some gave all

Veterans Day ceremonies were observed throughout Whitman County Thursday and Friday, as students, soldiers and citizens pulled out their patriotism to give thanks for those who served.

At top, first grader Aspen Heise shows grandfather Dean Heise her handprint on the Steptoe School’s student-made flag after the school’s Veterans Day pageant.

, Steptoe Principal Eric Patton shows off a selection of his collection of fighter pilot helmets. Patton and Dean Heise brought in a selection of their military memorobilia to display to students and visitors.

Below, Rosalia scouts presented the United States flag and gave the flag a retirement ceremony.
