Moose cruises town

Colfax residents Monday morning reported sighting a cow moose in the downtown area and the west hill. Sightings were reported on Wall Street and the Wall Street bridge early in the morning. The moose apparently made her way up the west hill with residents at the top of Deanway reporting the animal cruising through their yards after 1 p.m.

The moose was photographed by Karen Hensley at about 1:40 p.m. Tracks indicate the animal crossed the Bergey yard uphill from the Hensleys and then continued southbound, possibly making a stop at the apple trees along Cromwell.
