Garfield beautification Winner

Garfield's Planning Commission sponsored the 2011 Garfield beautification contest. The winners were Windy and Tom Tevlin at 108 3rd St., for the replacement of their exterior wall and windows. The goal of the contest was to inspire improvements in appearance to show pride in the community. While many improvements around town were observed, only a few were submitted to the committee before the contest deadline Sept. 20. This year's cash prize will not be awarded because the number of entries was less than the 20 minimum.
