Masterclass Jazz, harpist will perform at Empire

Spokane’s Masterclass Jazz Orchestra will returned to Tekoa’s Empire Theater Saturday, April 23, at 7 p.m. The jazz ensemble, some 15 members strong, will feature its usual blend of professional and amateur musicians. The group provides young performers mentoring and venues at which to perform.

Oakesdale High School senior saxophonist Michael Conklin will be one of the outstanding students included in the upcoming event, which will include a variety of material from Big Band hits to lesser-known jazz gems from the 1920s to the present.
