Plan for golden-year reunion

Kathy Shields and friends met Sept. 22 at the Northern Quest Casino buffet. They are making plans for their 60th Cheney High School class reunion to be at the Casino in September of 2011. Those present were Joy and Bob Franklin of Post Falls; Ken and Darlene Judd of Rathdrum, Idaho; Amy Jo and Dan Tollefson of Lacey; Ted and Jeannette Ham of Cheney; Bob and JoAnn Giffing of Hayden, Idaho; Bill and Rita Leinweber of Spokane, and Mel Schmidt of Monteray, Calif.

Five members of the Lamont Kitchen Kuties band met for lunch Sept. 24 at the St. John Cafe. Those present were Charlotte Bowen, Diane Cook, Jean Stromberger, Pat Peterson and Kathy Shields. Betty Kintschi was unable to come.

Milly Kay and Bill Baldwin arrived Saturday to join Bill, Stella, Dean and Mindy Melville to attend the WSU-USC football game at Pullman. The Baldwins returned home Sunday. On Monday, Bill, Stella and Dean Melville attended the WSU luncheon at the Spokane Club.

Don and Sherrill Nelson drove to the Spokane Valley Saturday to watch their eight-year-old granddaughter, Kyli Nelson, play in her club soccer game. On Saturday evening their daughter, Shari Golden of Seattle, arrived to spend a few days. On Sunday Don, Sherrill and Shari attended Lilly Nelson’s fifth birthday party at the home of her parents Keith and Staci Nelson in the Spokane Valley.

Betty Stone drove to Newman Lake last Friday to visit and spend the night with her sister and husband, Carol and Rob Vest.

Wednesday, Sept. 22, dinner guests at the home of Nita and Matt Polda were Myna and Frank Rhen and Toni and Kim Boston, all of the Spokane Valley. The guests were returning from a vacation on the coast.
