Canadays move to Lamont

Lamont

Chris and Melinda Canaday and two children, Milea and Kyle, have recently moved to Lamont. Melinda is secretary at the Sprague High School and Chris works for the City of Sprague. Milea attends school at the Elementary school in Sprague and Kyle attends the Middle School at Lamont.

Diane Cook drove to Cheney Saturday to meet her daughter, Sandi Miller and granddaughter, Kristen, of Kahlotus. The three participated in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure in Spokane on Sunday. They walked three miles through downtown Spokane, beginning and ending at the convention center.

An estimated 9,000 people took part in the race to raise money for breast cancer awareness. This was the fourth time Sandi had participated and the second for Diane.

Bonnie Swannack and two of her quilting friends, Ginny Muench and Phylis Mitzel, drove to Moscow Saturday to a quilt show. They then went on a shop hop of their own to visit fabric stores in Moscow and Viola, Palouse and Colfax. The store in Viola is located in a house with every room filled with quilting items.

Seven students on the third quarter honor roll at the Lamont Middle School are Tracy Melville, Carissa Peavy, Kyle Canaday, and Alex Wheeler, seventh graders; Kelsey Peavey, Haley Osmonovich and Jasmine Byrd, eighth gradders.
