Former resident Sharon Cook Stockwell, daughter of the late Johnny and Viola Cook, and Donnie Martin, Sumner, welcomed Brady Austin Martin, March 25. He weighed over six pounds, and is Sharon’s first child.

Darrel and LaRae Claassen were in Kirkland this week to meet their new grandson, James, born July 27 to Mark and Lena Claassen Whitlock. He joins brothers Joe, 8, and Jonathan, 18 months.

The Myrick family’s annual campout was two weekends ago at Cascade Peaks Campground near Packwood. Those in attendance included Lucky and Joan Myrick and Desiree, Dusty; Rob Myrick; Rich Myrick and Jenetta Johnson, Moses Lake; his children, Cherie’, Deanna, and Cameron Myrick and their mother Carol Myrick, all of Spanaway; Mike and Michael Myrick, Yelm; and Christie Wood and her daughter Maggie, Centralia. Saturday, George and Vonda Coulter, Yelm, visited with the family.

Art and Colene Sager returned Sunday from an extended week of reunions and family events. Two weekends ago, they were in Nampa, Idaho, for a family reunion of Art’s siblings and their cousins with 105 in attendance. Tuesday, they attended the wedding of Vallerie Sager, daughter of Art’s brother, Verne and Dolores Sager. The Sagers came home Wednesday and headed to McCall, Idaho, Thursday for a reunion with his brothers and sister and their families, the children and grandchildren of the late Chester and Gladys Sager. There were 28 descendants in attendance. They returned home Sunday.

Judy Naumann, Minneapolis, has been staying with them for two weeks and went with them to Idaho. The two women attended their Middleton High School class of ‘63 reunion while there. Naumann returned to her home Wednesday.

David and Phyllis Stueckle hosted dinner in their home Saturday evening for Perry and LaNae Pust, guest speakers Sunday morning at the Country Bible Church. After services Sunday, the Stueckles treated them to dinner at the TeaPot Cafe in LaCrosse.

Bruce, Elaine, Logan, Charlie and Spencer Appel, Hamilton, Mass,, spent three weeks visiting Bruce’s parents, Helen and Dick Appel. Bruce drove combine for his brother Eric for a week. Barb Wollstein, Lacey, returned to her home after helping her mother Helen after Helen’s knee surgery. Lisa Frei and children were the next shift which arrived for a few days to help.

Karen Broeckel attended a 50th birthday celebration for Greg Nolan Sunday at his home in Colfax. Gwen, Jason and Andrew Nolan hosted the barbecue. Also attending were friend Kerrie King, Colfax; Greg’s parents, Cliff and Jeanette Nolan, Colfax; sister Pam, Ken, Zach and Austin Beasley, Waitsburg; aunt Patty, Rick and Brett Wieber and Jamie Wieber-Forrest, Spokane; and in-laws Mark and Carol Rubin and Jay, Kathy and Bryan Rubin, Colfax. Friends who joined the group for cake and ice cream were Wes and Jen Claassen and children, Brian and Debbie Largent, and Brent and Paula Meyer.
