  • First Wind offers area scholarship

    First Wind, the Boston-based company looking to install up a 100-megawatt wind turbine farm west of Oakesdale, announced Friday it will offer a scholarship for students attending high school near the project site. First Wind will offer up to a $3,000 scholarship to northern Whitman County students.     Oakesdale Oakesdale Elementary will present their annual Christmas program Monday, Dec. 20, at 6:30 p.m. in the Oakesdale gym. Bridge Club met in Colfax last Thursday where they dined at Eddy’s and then went to Hill Ray where Donna Fisher was host.
