    COLFAX –– A Colfax woman was arrested on charges of 2nd Degree Assault, 4th Degree Assault, and 2nd degree theft on Sunday, November 5. Richelle Ann Jones, 41, was arrested and booked into the Whitman County Jail. Her bail is currently set at a $20,000 bond or $2,000 cash bail through Whitman County Superior Court.     COLFAX— Several levies were on this year’s General Election Ballot; results so far tabulated for the ballot count are as follows for each town. ALBION The Town of Albion Council proposes one levy in this year’s General Election concerning the continued services for Police, Fire, and Code Enforcement. Resolution No. 23-04 is a one-year proposition that would increase the town’s regular property tax by .86 cents per $1,000 assessed value, or $86 a year per $100,000, raising the town $20,000.     COLFAX — With approximately 20,000 ballots mailed out, ballots counted as of Tuesday, Nov, 7 the General Election results tabulated are out for contested positions so far. Whitman County Auditor Sandy Jamison said that while results were posted the night of Tuesday, Nov. 7, they are unofficial until the official results are released Tuesday, Nov. 28 upon election certification.     TEKOA — The body of a man found in a landfill in 1989 was recently identified as Clifford Wayne Bippes, a local man from Tekoa. Bippes, 45, was identified through forensic genetic genealogy by the Spokane County Medical Examiner’s Office. The announcement was made on Tuesday, Oct. 31, by the Spokane Medical Examiner. “The medical examiner’s office really did the work.     COLFAX — The Whitman County Auditor’s Office released Thursday, Nov. 2, that 5,000 new ballots for Tuesday’s election were mailed out to voters in rural precincts and wards 1 and 2 in Pullman who had received ballots for the wrong voting precinct.     PULLMAN- Avista provided an update today, Friday, Nov. 10, regarding restoring natural gas services to an estimated 37,000 natural gas customers in the Pullman Moscow Region and Lewiston Clarkston Region.
