    PALOUSE — The Palouse Summer Baseball series is up and running. The event sees baseball travel teams in eight different divisions, the youngest being 10U, and the oldest being 19U, will compete in a tournament with games taking place at either Bailey-Brayton field in Pullman, Washington, McDonald Park in Colfax, and Quann field, where the Pullman High School Greyhounds play baseball. This was the seventh week of an eight week season, this Thursday, June 8, will be the final week of the season as it is the playoff round.     COLFAX — Just over a month since receiving an offer from the Stanford Cardinal, one of the best schools for women’s basketball, Brynn McGaughy has become a national name. Her national recognition has started after a stellar May AAU circuit run. McGaughy was averaging 16.3 points and was shooting the three ball with 50% accuracy at the Adidas 3SSB circuit.     AIRWAY HEIGHTS – An Airway Heights man was sentenced to 96 months in federal prison on drug charges. The announcement was made in a June 5 press release by Vanessa R. Waldref, the United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Washington. Joseph William Baker, age 28, of Airway Heights, Washington was convicted of possession with intent to distribute five grams of pure methamphetamine.     COLFAX — The Colfax Chamber of Commerce hired a new Director, Nikki Nolt, 34, who started Thursday, June 1. Nolt found the job by attending the Chamber meetings and, upon seeing the announcement for a new director, decided to talk to previous Director Molly Keogh, deciding that the job would be a good fit.   • Pullman Regional Airport celebrates "Topping Off" ceremony

    PULLMAN - A milestone of a new terminal for the Pullman-Moscow Regional Airport was completed Wednesday, May 31, at the airport's "Topping Off" Ceremony. The project cost $85 million, and its discussion and design process began in 2011. The airport hopes to open the new terminal and at least one gate by December 2023.
