Brynn McGaughy jumps to No. 15 nationally in ESPN recruiting

McGaughy has offers from all PAC 12 schools

COLFAX — Just over a month since receiving an offer from the Stanford Cardinal, one of the best schools for women’s basketball, Brynn McGaughy has become a national name.

Her national recognition has started after a stellar May AAU circuit run. McGaughy was averaging 16.3 points and was shooting the three ball with 50% accuracy at the Adidas 3SSB circuit.

Last week, McGaughy was unranked in the class of 2025 on ESPN HoopGurlz recruiting rankings, she has now jumped to No. 15 and is graded as a five-star recruit with a scout grade of 96.

Being ranked 15th in her class was not unnoticed by other east coast teams either, just before the announcement of the updated recruiting rankings, McGaughy picked up an offer from Michigan State.

After announcing the new ranking for McGughy, she received an offer from Vanderbilt, bringing her total collegiate offers to around 30,

She quickly picked up offers from east coast teams, including: West Virginia, Michigan, Texas A&M, Florida, TCU, Louisville, Wisconsin, Alabama, and North Carolina.

The Tar Heels were one of the schools McGaughy revealed were one of her three favorite schools due to the facility, staff, and culture of the team and university.

This is the first major school McGaughy has talked about to offer her. When talking to McGaughy, she mentioned that besides the Tar Heels, her other two favorite schools at the moment were Tennessee and her dream school, Uconn.

With all these east coast schools reaching out and offering McGaughy, it’s no surprise that she finally received her last two offers from PAC-12 schools.

McGaughy announced on May 24 that the Arizona Wildcats offered her a scholarship, leaving only the Washington Huskies left for her.

The Huskies did not take long to reach out to McGaughy after the Wildcats did, they offered her on May 31, completing her PAC-12 offers.

Safe to say that McGaughy is ecstatic to have every school from a conference offer her, she is about to start her deep dive into the summer and her AAU sessions with Meta Hoops out of Boise, Idaho.

The AAU circuit this year has helped McGaughy showcase her skills to other schools on the east coast who have yet to travel to Colfax, Washington to watch her compete.

An article from Prep Girl Hoops early this week released their top 2025 Washington girls basketball player rankings regardless of school classification. To no surprise, McGaughy took the top spot, beating out Lynden Christians Grace Hintz, as well as Chiawana’s Malia Ruud. Chiawana also had Kaia Foster ranked as the fifth best girls basketball player in Washington for the class of 2025.
