    In the mid 80s I had great health care for my young family. I worked in construction and as long as there was work, I had wonderful health care because I was in a strong union. During a slow period when work dried up, I used COBRA to buy health care by the month but it seemed very expensive and I eventually had to stop making payments and lost our insurance.     Linda Hennigar spent the weekend in Kennewick with her daughter's family, Jay and Tami Banks, to celebrate grandson Wesley's 20th birthday on Friday. Mother's Day was also celebrated during the weekend. Wesley was home for the weekend from Meridian, Idaho, where he is attending Northwest Lineman School. Hennigar also had a visit from Linda Hiskey who lives in the Tri-cities area.     COLFAX – Preceding the start of the virtual Washington State FFA Convention, the National FFA Organization and National FFA Foundation announced recipients for its 2020 scholarships.     PULLMAN – WSU conducted its first-ever virtual celebration May 9 for all graduating students and their families. The live celebration was broadcasted through the university’s Experience WSU website. Closed captioning and sign language interpretation were provided.     Martha Ann Upshaw, known to her friends and family as "Fritzie", passed away Sunday May 3, 2020, at Whitman Hospital and Medical Center in Colfax, Wash. She was 85. Fritzie was born in December of 1934 to Samuel and Mae Findler, in the township of Neptune, N.J. She loved to share with family and friends the many fond and interesting memories of her childhood and teen years along the Atlantic coast.
