  • May Day fest in Garfield Saturday

    Garfield’s annual May Day festivities are on tap for Saturday. The event, always held on Armed Forces Day, will feature a parade, kids’ games and activities, a 5K fun run, food in the park and more. The day will begin with the Boy Scouts’ Breakfast held in the middle school cafeteria from 6:30 to 10 a.m. At 8 a.m. the “Moose on the Loose” 5K run will start, followed by the kiddie parade at 10:45 a.m. with prizes for the top three costumes.     Sixteen county commissioners from the six counties that make up the Ninth legislative district assembled Friday in the Public Service Building at Colfax to select a new state representative.
