    A mass of Christian burial for Frances L. Sauer, 81, retired teacher, was Monday, March 9, at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Tekoa. Rosary was recited Sunday evening at the church. Father Mike Savelesky officiated. Burial followed at Goldenrod Cemetery in Tekoa. She died last Wednesday, March 4, 2015, at Whitman Hospital in Colfax.     Palouse Arts Council will present “St. Paddy’s in Palouse,” an Irish music and dance festival, Tuesday, March 17, at the Palouse Community Center.     The annual Pinewood Derby for Pullman Cub Scout Pack 415 and Pack 419 was at Lincoln Middle School Feb. 7 with more than 45 cars in the combined event.     Carole Galloway, who has a studio at the Dahmen Barn in Uniontown, will conduct a funny bunny kids workshop at the barn March 28 from 1 to 2:30 p.m. for youngsters between the ages of 6 and 12.     Dusty Saturday, Linda Hennigar was at Walla Walla High School to watch her grandson, Wesley Banks, captain his squad of 28 members in a Junior ROTC Competition of groups from Washington and Oregon.     A strategic draft plan for the Palouse River and Coulee City Rail system lists 37 miles of railroad in Whitman County which will undergo an assessment to determine if they should be removed and the property subsequently placed in the rail banking program.
