    A $10,000 bail for pre-trial release was set Friday for Franklin Hervey, 46, Garfield, the latest suspect arrested in connection with the sheriff’s investigation of burglaries in the northern part of Whitman County. Hervey, who has been implicated in arrest reports filed on other suspects in the case, was arrested at his home in Garfield last Thursday night and jailed on probable charges of burglary and theft.     Whitman County Commissioner Michael Largent announced Sunday his intention to seek a second term in office to a crowd of Republicans at the county GOP’s annual Lincoln Day Dinner in Pullman.     A 130-strong crowd of concerned Colfax citizens let fly at a school meeting Feb. 22, questioning school officials on the district’s recently failed $1.3 million levy and weighing in on what they’d like in a new levy.     Colfax ag pilot Brian Windsor escaped serious injury last Thursday when this 1977 Grumman Ag Cat lost power during takeoff from the Colfax Airport at about 8:35 a.m. The airplane cleared Rebel Flat Creek at the west end of the airport, nosed into the field and struck its tail while flipping. Windsor walked away from the wreck when the first witness arrived at the scene. He was picked up by the Colfax ambulance at the hangar and taken to Whitman Hospital for a checkup.
