    Whitman County Rural Library District is seeking residents interested in serving on the Board of Trustees. An opening was recently created when Andrea Miller of St. John completed her term.     LaCrosse LaCrosse United Methodist Church presented a "Crafts for Kids" event in advance of Valentine's Day. There were hearts galore in every size.     A memorial service for Lowell Lee Garrett, 77, long-time resident of the LaCrosse area, will be Saturday, Feb. 23, at noon at the LaCrosse Community Club, 409 S. Main St., with a potluck reception to follow. Mr. Garrett died at his home Jan. 27, 2019.     Our beloved mother and grandmother, Wanda Sheahan, passed away peacefully on December 21, 2018, near her winter home of San Marcos, California. She was 91 years old and bravely fought liver and pancreatic cancer for the past 12 months.
