  • Prestons named grand marshals for Rosalia Battle Days celebration

    Dave and Ruth Mary Preston, both graduates of Rosalia High School, will be grand marshals of the Battle Days parade Saturday at Rosalia. They were married in 1957 and have always made their home in Rosalia. He lettered four years in baseball, but never turned out for the more rugged sports because he weighed 130 pounds when he graduated. He said that he didn’t gain weight until he got a good cook.   • Rosalia Lions at work at Pioneer Riggs Cemetery

    Rosalia Lions club cared for the Pioneer Riggs Cemetery as a community project. The cemetery is located about two miles northeast of Rosalia. In 1889 the plot of ground was donated to the community as a burial ground by Samuel Riggs. The cemetery is on a hill top with a 360 degree view of surrounding hills covered in the different shades of spring green and a beautiful view of Steptoe Butte.
