Students get 'Pride' update at assembly

The Student of Character assembly for February was last Wednesday, March 7. Giraffe Awards were given to the LaCrosse Community Pride Development committee. Those attending were Alex McGregor, Carol Audet, Jeannine Larkin, Jeff Andrus, Jen Broeckel, Scooter Lyle, Gary Wargo, Tedd Nealey and Lois Startin. Ed Casey was not able to attend. McGregor spoke about the community pride group and the progress the committee is making.

Recognition was given to the Hunger Games book club which meets during their lunch time twice a week and discusses the book.

Effort awards went for students in kindergarten through fourth grades who participated in the 10-mile club.

Grade school students this week are collecting donations for the American Heart Association. Guest speakers Kinsey Doering and Don Cox shared their heart stories.

Grade school students who received the February SOC collected their charm Friday morning.

LaCrosse FFA Chapter will again sell enchiladas. To pre-order, call the school or e-mail Lisa Baser at: lbaser@lax.wednet.edu. Prices will be the same as last year, a small pan of three for $5 or a large pan of six for $10. They will be available Friday, March 16.

LaCrosse Library is open on Mondays from 1-5 and Thursdays, 10-2. Storytime for children up to 6 years is Thursdays at 10:30. After school club for students grades 1-4 is the second Monday of each month, 3:20-4:00.
