Obituary - John J. Weber

Funeral mass for John Jack Weber, 88, Uniontown, was Monday morning at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Uniontown. Recitation of the rosary preceded the Mass. Vault interment was at St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery in Uniontown.

Mr. Weber died last Thursday, Nov. 1, 2012, at his Uniontown home.

Born March 7, 1924, in Uniontown to John Gregory and Mary Marguerite (Adams) Weber, he grew up on the family farm and attended school in Uniontown.

Following his graduation from high school, Jack remained on the family farm until he and Jeanette Teresa Meyer married Oct. 8, 1947, in Colton.

He continued farming for a while until going to work at the Uniontown Coop where he remained as a warehouseman until his retirement in 1989.

After retirement, Jack became a wellwitcher, and traveled throughout Eastern Washington and Northern Idaho.

He was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus.

He served as Uniontown’s mayor for a number of years and managed St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery for nearly 20 years.

He loved the outdoors and especially enjoyed fishing and gardening.

Surviving are two sons, Pete (Ginny) Weber, East Wenatchee; Chris (Lisa) Weber, Spokane; five daughters, Ann (Don) Drader, Moses Lake; Patty (Tom) Schreck, Davenport; Jeanne (Ken) Prier, Portland; Roberta (John) Hunter, Sedro Woolley; Margaret (Tony) Gaspich, Bainbridge Island; 24 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; two brothers, Martin and Dick Weber, and one sister, Mary Ann Niehenke. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanette, and one son, Chuck Weber.
