Hume Road cleaned up after semi-truck rollover

STEPTOE - A semi rollover on Wednesday, May 29, temporarily closed Hume Road while officials cleaned up the debris and wood that covered both sides of the roadway.

The Whitman County Sheriff's Office reports that Carlos Ivan Badillo Lopez, 25, of Yakima, was driving along the roadway when he drove too far into the shoulder, causing the semi to roll over.

"That road isn't designed for the load weight he was carrying and when he drifted over, the load was too heavy," said Whitman County Sheriff Brett Myers.
