Whitman County highway construction season begins

Delays can be expected during chip sealing

COLFAX –– The summer highway construction season started on Tuesday, May 28, with many projects planned.

According to reports, the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) is planning to chip-seal two local highways in Whitman County.

Crews will resurface 44 miles of State Route 23 between Steptoe and Sprague and chip seal 21 miles of SR 194 between Pullman and Almota on the Snake River.

Motorists can expect delays through these work zones, with flaggers directing one lane of traffic.
