Palouse to host Hot Rod Gathering and Art Walk

PALOUSE — The Spring Hotrod Gathering will be happening in Palouse this weekend from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, June 1.

The gathering will feature hot rods, customs cars, and choppers pre-1965 only. People are invited to enter their hotrods for a small fee.

The show will start at 11 a.m., followed by a frozen t-shirt challenge at 1 p.m. and the t-shirt booth will close at 2 p.m.

Trophies will be placed in from of recipients’ cars at 3:30 p.m. Individual favorites will receive a trophy.

Main Street will open at 6 p.m., and the Palouse Caboose will host live music on the patio at 6:30 p.m., performed by The Aaron Rager Three.

In addition, the Palouse Art Walk will take place throughout the month of June.

Co-chair of Palouse Art Walk and member of the Palouse Arts Council, Karen Peltier said that winners of the Palouse Spark An Artist art will be displayed in the museum windows on Main Street during the Palouse Art Walk.

“The winners win a cash prize to do with whatever they want,” said Peltier.

The Spark an Artist award was created in 2005 by Palouse Arts Council patron and Palouse High School graduate Dr. William Murray.

The contest recognizes creative expression within the youth of the Garfield-Palouse community.
