DeSales took down Timberwolves before beating Colton

COLTON – The Colton Wildcats were shut-out 11-0 by the DeSales Irish in their opening district game.

The game was played on Tuesday, May 7, in Colton.

Colton came into the game ranked number one in the district, with DeSales at number two.

The Irish took down the Tekoa-Rosalia Timberwolves 13-3 in the opening game to advance themselves against the Wildcats.

With the win over Colton, DeSales will play for the district championship, as well as automatically qualifying for the district 7/9 crossover match.

This game saw Colton fail to produce a hit in the game, while allowing seven from DeSales.

Kiya Soza pitched three-and-two-thirds innings, allowing 10 runs, five earned, on seven hits and seven walks. She also struck out five batters.

With the loss, the Wildcats now face a loser-out game, which will be played on Monday, May 13, against the Dayton Bulldogs. The game will take place at 4 p.m., at Mill Creek Complex.

If Colton win, they will play at 6 p.m., and guarantee themselves a spot in crossover play.

The Tekoa-Rosalia Timberwolves lost to DeSales in the game before Colton. They also will play Monday, May 13, in a loser-out game at 4 p.m.

If Colton and Tekoa both win, they play each other.
