Colfax firefighter Ginny Millar helps put an oxygen tank on a child's back during the April 25 storytime at the Colfax Library.

COLFAX - The local branch of the Whitman County Library hosted the firefighters from the Colfax Fire Department for an educational storytime about firefighters.

For its Thursday early morning storytime on April 25, the library had a special storytime with Assistant Fire Chief John Lautenslager, and a guest firefighter Ginny Millar

Children gathered around to hear a story about the day in the life of a firefighter before seeing the different gear that firefighters wear.

The kids were invited to touch the different gear, learn about how oxygen worked and how it was all put on.
