Martonick announced candidacy

Years of experience and hundreds of jury trials

COLFAX — Long-time Whitman County Defense Attorney, Steve Martonick announced his candidacy for Superior Court Judge on Tuesday, April 30.

Martonick has been a defense attorney for more than 20 years, and has represented thousands of adults and juveniles in criminal defense, personal injury and administrative law cases.

In addition to his career as a defense attorney, Martonick has contributed to the legal profession by serving as a instructor at the University of Idaho law school sharing legal expertise with aspiring attorneys.

Martonick has also done community service by serving on the board of the Whitman County Humane Society, a former active member of the Pullman Chamber of Commerce, and an occasional Lentil Festival Volunteer.

In a statement announcing his candidacy ,Martonick emphasized his roots in Eastern Washington, and said that he has a commitment to fairness and equality before the law.

“Giving all parties a fair chance to be heard, and to weigh their case on the merits,” Martonick said of how he would go about the job if elected as Superior Court Judge.

Martonick also highlighted his extensive trial experience, trying over 100 cases before juries, and his dedication to educating fellow attorney’s on protecting the individual’s rights.
