Wildcats sixth in RPI

Lost to varsity team, then took down JV team

COLTON - The Colton Wildcats softball team dropped to sixth in RPI after a 12-3 loss against the Pullman Greyhounds.

The game was played on Thursday, April 18, in Colton, where Pullman scored in each inning except the second inning.

Kiya Soza pitched all seven innings for Colton, she allowed 12 runs, eight earned, on 14 hits with two walked batters. She would also strikeout seven batters.

Colton registered just three hits in the game, one each from Soza, Leah Musson and Ella Nollmeyer.

Soza picked up the lone RBI for Colton in the game.

The Wildcats then would take on the Pullman junior varsity team, where they would take down the Greyhounds junior varsity team, 16-10.

This time, Kate Schultheis pitched all seven innings. She would allow just three hits in the game for 10 runs, five earned.

Schultheis would strikeout seven batters and walk another six.

Colton had 14 total hits against the Greyhound junior varsity team. Musson, Clare Moehrle and Schultheis had two hits each to lead the team.

Moehrle finished with three RBIs, followed closely by Musson and Schultheis with two each.

After the loss to the Genesee Bulldogs on Friday, April 19, Colton sit sixth in RPI standings.
