Project Downtown construction underway

PULLMAN — A ground breaking ceremony on Monday, April 1, was held in Pullman by Mayor Francis Benjamin, with support from members of the Pullman City Council to mark the beginning of construction on the reconstruction of Main Street.

The ceremony was attended by community leaders from the Downtown Pullman Association, Chamber of Commerce, community members who served on the project’s Steering Committee, engineering consultants and contracting team leaders.

According to reports, crews will reconstruct the street, underground utilities and build new sidewalks.

Downtown businesses front door businesses will remain open for most of the construction.

There are pedestrian-orientated temporary way finding signs installed downtown Pullman to help business patrons find their way from parking areas to downtown businesses.

Patrons are encouraged to continue to shop downtown Pullman.
