Anna Lee Morris

Sept. 3, 1929 - Mar. 6, 2024

Anna Lee Morris, lifelong Colfax resident, passed away in Kennewick, Wash., March 6, 2024, with her family at her side. Although we will miss her greatly, it is a blessing knowing that she is now reunited with her husband, Charlie, and son, Joe. The Rosary Service will be Tuesday, March 19, at 10 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m., both taking place at St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Burial will be in the Colfax Cemetery.

Anna Lee was born Sept. 3, 1929, to Claude and Rosella Silvey. She attended both Catholic and Public school during her elementary years and graduated from Colfax High School.

Anna Lee married Gerald (Charlie) Morris on May 27, 1949, and worked at the Whitman County Assessor's Office and Colfax Title Company until the birth of their first child, Tom, in 1952. At that time, she honed her skills as a full time mother, gardener, and busy farm wife. Tom was soon followed by 5 siblings; Sandi, Elaine, Joe, Bill and Chris.

Despite being diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis at age 35, Anna Lee decided she did not have the time or patience to be bothered by the disabilities associated with MS, and forged ahead full speed raising six active children, growing enormous gardens and juggling the activities of a farm wife. Due to her tenacity, she defied all the odds and lived to the remarkable age of 94.

When Charlie's health started to fail in 2013, they moved to an Assisted Living Facility in Kennewick, Wash, for medical needs and to be closer to son, Chris, and his family. Later that year, after Charlie passed, Anna Lee continued living in her two bedroom assisted living cottage until age 92. She then moved across the street to Fleur de Lis Adult Family Homes, owned by Chris and his wife, Paige, and lived there until her passing.

Anna Lee is survived by five children, Tom (Marcia) Morris, Spokane, Sandi Morris, Yakima, Elaine (Don) McClintock and Bill (Charee) Morris, both of Colfax, Chris (Paige) Morris, Pasco; 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren with a new great-granddaughter due in June. She was preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Rosella, her brothers Maurice Silvey and Jimmy Zane Silvey (died in infancy), husband, Charlie, and son, Joe.

The family would like to express a huge thank you to St. Joseph Catholic Church for 10 years of weekly in-house communion and fellowship; and to Heartlinks Hospice, Dr. James Campbell, and the Fleur de Lis Adult Family Homes staff, especially Viola Tobias, for her decade long devoted care, friendship and stewardship. The biggest thank you of all goes to Paige, who's 10 years of round-the-clock care and comfort kept mom active, content and comfortable until her passing. And thank you Chris for giving us, your siblings, peace of mind knowing that you were always there for mom when we couldn't be.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the St. Patrick's Church. On-line guest book is at http://www.corbeillfuneralhomes.com
